1.8 - Demonstrate lighting and the use of the smoker

NEVER WITH HOOD OVER FACE

• pack with easy lighting materials (egg carton, newspaper) then longer burning ones (wood etc)
• Throw in some grass at the top to cool the smoke and prevent sparks
• Drift the smoke over the hive
• It can be used to push back the bees on the lugs or queen excluder
• Don't over smoke the bees
